It has been Installed between asphalt layers of fiber reinforcement in order to stop or retard cracks already occurred in the lower layer.
Asphalt reinforcement is a composite consisting of a glass fiber grid and lightweight PET nonwoven fabric.
It is a civil reinforcement material that weaves grid and nonwoven fabric together to act as a framework for reinforcement of asphalt layer and prevent cracks in foundation ground by increasing tensile strength of asphalt layer.

1. Asphalt Stiffener Features
Reinforced composite combined with E-glass Grid and Bitumen coating. The combined reinforcement works as a framework for reinforcing the asphalt layer and prevents cracking of the foundation ground by increasing the tensile force of the asphalt layer.
Excellent chemical recovery, heat recovery, cracking durability and anti-cracking effect at low temperature.
Geosynthetic reinforced specimens have been found to be 5 to 10 times more effective in crack suppression than unreinforced specimens and glass fiber grids are about 2 times more resistant to cracking than polyester grids. It is considered that this is affected by the elongation of the grid.
Fiber reinforcements can be installed between asphalt layers to stop or retard cracks already occurred in the lower layers.
Geosynthetic fiber attached to the lower surface of the asphalt surface disperses the load and suppresses the crack propagation due to the low thermal strain and high tensile strength of the glass fiber.
